My name is Shalini (SHAH – lin – ee). Welcome to my page! This is my first blog, but I’ve recently come to the realization that I can express my passion about nutrition, advocacy, culture, and health all in one place! I created this page with the hope that I can create a single place that people, patients, and interested persons can find information about preventative medicine, some of the inner-workings of medicine, and maybe find some tangible answers to common questions like – what is hypertension? Why does salt affect your blood pressure? What can I do to alter my diet to help my health problems? Should I buy organic food? Isn’t being “organic” really expensive? I took a course in Culinary Medicine in medical school, and now I am trying to apply what I learned to my own life during residency. I look forward to sharing my findings and inspirations with you.
